Happy Mother’s Day! Today, I’m pausing to reflect on something that feels truer every year: mothers are the bedrock of who we are as people. Whether it’s the mom who raised us, a stepmom, a grandmother, an aunt, or any maternal figure who stepped up, their love, lessons, and strength shape the core of who we become. Think about it—our mothers (or those who fill that role) are our first teachers, our first cheerleaders, our first safe place. They’re the ones who bandage our scraped knees, cheer at our games, and quietly sacrifice so we can chase our dreams. From the big moments—like teaching us courage or kindness—to the small ones, like the way they make a house feel like home, they lay the foundation for our character, our values, and our hearts. I think of my own mom, who showed me what resilience looks like. She juggled work, family, and endless curveballs, yet always had time to listen or share a laugh. Her belief in me—even when I doubted myself—built the confidence I carry today. It’s not just the big gestures; it’s the countless quiet ways she shaped me, like teaching me to own my mistakes or to always leave room for grace. Every one of us has a story like that—a mom or mother figure whose love is woven into who we are. This Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate that foundation. It’s not just about flowers or cards (though those are great!). It’s about recognizing the women who poured their hearts into us, giving us the roots to grow and the wings to soar. They’re not perfect—no one is—but their impact is undeniable. Here’s my challenge for you this week: take a moment to honor the mother figure in your life. Call her, write her a note, or just share a memory that reminds her of her impact. If she’s no longer with you, reflect on one lesson she left you and how it still guides you. If you’re up for it, reply and tell me about your mom or maternal figure—I’d love to hear what makes her special. To all the mothers reading this, thank you. You’re the foundation of who we are, and today, we’re celebrating you. Happy Mother’s Day! With gratitude, Justin PS - I have a weekly update that I will include on my dreams below, this is something I have been doing personally for more than 2 years now, and it is my guiding light for how I make decisions and decide what I want to be doing and chasing. This week, I’ve been thinking about something that’s at the heart of everything we do: relationships. Not the fleeting, transactional kind, but the long-term ones—the ones that grow, evolve, and carry us through life’s twists and turns. Building and nurturing those connections, and keeping people in the loop as we journey through life, isn’t just nice to have—it’s essential. Life moves fast. Between chasing dreams (like my full-time leap into entrepreneurship with this blog and my work with...
This week, I’m taking a step back to wrestle with a question that’s been weighing on me, and I need your perspective. As I pour my heart into building this personal brand—through this newsletter, my blog, and my work with clients—I’ve been open about my journey. From chasing my entrepreneurial dreams full-time to moments like my daughter’s dance recital or my whirlwind trip to Nashville for StoryBrand certification, I’ve shared the highs, the risks, and even the doubts. But now I’m wondering:...
Happy Father’s Day! Today, I’m filled with gratitude for all the fathers out there pouring their hearts into doing their best, no matter their circumstances. Whether you’re a dad juggling long hours, navigating tough seasons, or just trying to be there for your kids in the way only you can, you’re making a difference. Fatherhood isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, loving fiercely, and giving what you’ve got. To every dad reading this, thank you. Your efforts shape lives, and we see...
