The Joy of Watching Our Future Shine - 2025 - Week 20 Update

This week, I had one of those moments that stops you in your tracks and fills your heart to the brim. I went to my daughter’s dance recital, and let me tell you, it was pure magic. Watching her and all those kids up on stage—twirling, leaping, beaming with pride—was more than just a performance. It was a front-row seat to the future, learning, growing, and shining right in front of us.

There’s something so powerful about spending time with the next generation. Whether it’s your own kids, nieces, nephews, or even the young ones in your community, they carry this infectious energy—a mix of curiosity, courage, and joy that reminds us what life’s all about. At the recital, I saw kids who’d been practicing for months, some nervous, some bold, all giving it their all. Each step, even the wobbly ones, was a testament to their grit and heart. That’s our future, right there, building confidence and dreaming big.

It hit me hard: these moments aren’t just about clapping for a dance or a song. They’re about connection—pouring love and time into the kids who’ll shape tomorrow. Every cheer we give, every hug after the show, every “I’m proud of you” plants a seed. My daughter’s smile when she spotted me in the crowd? That’s the kind of love that sticks, the kind that tells her she’s seen and valued.

Spending time with the next generation isn’t always grand gestures. It’s showing up—to the recitals, the games, the quiet chats about their day. It’s listening to their wild ideas and marveling at how they see the world. That time we invest? It’s fuel for their growth and a reminder for us to stay open, hopeful, and present.

Here’s my challenge for you this week: carve out a moment to connect with a young person in your life. Watch their game, ask about their dreams, or just share a laugh. If you were at a recital or event recently, reflect on what it taught you about the future. I’d love to hear your stories—reply and tell me about a kid who’s inspired you lately!

Here’s to the joy and love of watching our future shine. Let’s keep cheering them on.

With a full heart,

Justin

This week, I’ve been thinking about something that’s at the heart of everything we do: relationships. Not the fleeting, transactional kind, but the long-term ones—the ones that grow, evolve, and carry us through life’s twists and turns. Building and nurturing those connections, and keeping people in the loop as we journey through life, isn’t just nice to have—it’s essential. Life moves fast. Between chasing dreams (like my full-time leap into entrepreneurship with this blog and my work with...

This week, I’m taking a step back to wrestle with a question that’s been weighing on me, and I need your perspective. As I pour my heart into building this personal brand—through this newsletter, my blog, and my work with clients—I’ve been open about my journey. From chasing my entrepreneurial dreams full-time to moments like my daughter’s dance recital or my whirlwind trip to Nashville for StoryBrand certification, I’ve shared the highs, the risks, and even the doubts. But now I’m wondering:...

Happy Father’s Day! Today, I’m filled with gratitude for all the fathers out there pouring their hearts into doing their best, no matter their circumstances. Whether you’re a dad juggling long hours, navigating tough seasons, or just trying to be there for your kids in the way only you can, you’re making a difference. Fatherhood isn’t about perfection—it’s about showing up, loving fiercely, and giving what you’ve got. To every dad reading this, thank you. Your efforts shape lives, and we see...
